A duckling and a.... chick!

Introducing DiDi the duckling and nay nay the chick!

The wait is finally over.. after 28 long days a baby duckling hatched.

However on day 21 something unexpected happened, a chick was born after an egg mix up. We were all very surprised and likened it to the story of the ugly duckling. The chicks name is Nay Nay.

Then a week later a duckling hatched, we have called it DiDi. Fortunately we managed to observe and capture the hatching on camera.

We now have a baby chick and a duckling living together, just like an episode of Friends!

Reception have duck eggs

Today something very exciting happened!
Two visitors  from Vauxhall city Farm came to  deliver some duckling eggs. We will be looking after the eggs until they hatch in 28 days and then will be able to have the ducklings in school for another week once they hatch.

We have started making predictions about what breed of duck they may be.

The countdown begins!

We have been invaded by aliens and astronauts!  We enjoyed an alien picnic and a story teller, we even played with space slime.

Something strange is solved!

Today when we came into class, the alien had paid us another visit over night, but this time he left a note!
He told us that he was very sorry and had onl6nmessed up our classrooms as he had lost his babies.. so he had decided to leave his babies with us to look after. We are all very excited!

It turns out that he wasn't a bad alien after just a sad alien.  We wrote letters back to the alien telling him that we will look after the babies for him.
