Chuggington

This week our topic is 'chuggington' and so all of our learning has a train theme! Also just a reminder we are going on our first trip tomorrow morning! We hope lots of you can join us on our visit to the train station!

Mike the knight

This week we have enjoyed learning all about knights and castles.
We created our own shields, hobby horses, built castles and wrote descriptions about our own castles!

As part of Eid celebrations, we also made some coconut Eid sweets and learnt about some of the different ways that Muslims celebrate at this time.

It has been a very busy week!!

First Week of School!

We hope all your children have enjoyed starting 'big school'!

Today they should have come home with a blue 'reading record' book. This is for you to write in when you read at home as well as us to write in when we read at school.

They should also have come home with a little bag of words! Please help your child learn to recognise these words by sight, both on the cards and in other contexts. Once they know these words and can put them into a sentence we will give them the next ‘Set’ of 6 words. Please note we will not give the next set of words until we feel your child is secure with their current set.

We are running a curriculum talk on Tuesday 22nd September at 9.15 in the Infant hall where we will give you more detailed information about the curriculum. In the meantime please look at the topic outline we sent home today!

Photos from Reception

Here are some photos from our classrooms and playground. You could use them to start conversations with your child about their day!
